A trip to northern part of Ethiopia is a must visit for it comprises of historically important regions like Bahar Dar, Gondar, Axum & Lalibela, weaves the story of great and powerful kingdoms of the northern Ethiopia comprising both religious & historical sites along with astounding nature, geography, culture and history with all sites connected with standard asphalt roads and local flights.

Bahir Dar is one of the most attractive cities in Ethiopia with its Palm trees where Lake Tana and Blue Nile Fall are found. Lake Tana, the largest lake in Ethiopia - 3500 of km2 is the home of several monasteries.

Gondar, also nicknamed "African Camelot" for its unique castles, was the capital of Ethiopia for 200 years during the 17th century. The Fasiledes Castles, its castled churches and traditional music houses make it one of the best choices for visitors.

Another worth visiting site in this area is the Semien Mountains, what in 1925 Rosita Forbes - a writer described as 'the most marvelous of Abyssinian landscape'. Other than its breath taking landscape, the area is rich in both flora and fauna endemic specious likes Walia Ibex and Red Fox.

Located in Tigray Region, Axum is the first place where Christianity was introduced to Ethiopia and St. Mary's of Zion Church was situated - the first church in the African soil that homes the first ark of covenant of Moses that came from Israel. The place is the most archeological site and is home for underground tombs, palaces, stelae, inscription and an Archeological Museum. Negash Mosque, also the first mosque in Ethiopia, built in 7th Century, is the oldest and holiest site for Muslims.

Lalibela (Roha) also called "African Petra", the Black Jerusalem, is the holiest place for Christians with groups of rock hewn churches built by the then King Lalibela in the 12th Century. There are also other historical churches around Lalibela like Yimrehanne Kirstos Church, Asheten Maryam Church and Genet Maryam Church.
